Oh la la: SA regional centre tops sex toy purchase list
A regional city that has been struggling to keep its major employer operating has been crowned the “sexiest” destination in South Australia.
Port Pirie has been named as the most prolific region for sex products in South Australia, buying more sex toys and accessories than any other location in the state – with SA crowned the fourth “sexiest state” in the country.
The regional city also topped the state for overall purchases per capita of a range of sex toys, nipple clamps and lingerie, according to online sex product retailer Lovehoney’s 2026 Sex Map.
Overall, Port Pirie was ranked the 27th largest sex product postcode in Australia, having taken home the top prize nationally last year.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth East was South Australia’s top destination for buying one common sex product, while Two Wells led the state for purchases of lube, and Burnside was the top spot for “sexy” costumes.
The Australian Capital Territory, which is primarily populated by politicians and public servants, was the overall winner, purchasing more sex toys per capita than anywhere else in the country, while SA ranked fifth overall.
