Police issued an appeal for public assistance to find 47-year-old Christopher Marsh on Friday, but warned he “should not be approached”.

“He may be armed,” police said in a statement.

Marsh is wanted for serious recent offending and police said they had seized an SKS-style firearm believed to have been in his possession.

He is known to frequent the northern suburbs and is described as being 185cm tall, with a muscular build, short brown hair and hazel eyes.

“Anyone who spots Christopher Marsh or has any information on his whereabouts should contact the police assistance line immediately,” police said.
