SA Police have said they will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of three fishermen who were missing in waters off Beachport over the weekend.

The alarm was raised at about 2.30pm on Sunday when three men had not returned to shore.

Police immediately launched a search of the area, with the assistance of Water Operations, PolAir, SES, and other aerial assets drones and local boaties.

The three men, aged 64, 67 and 74, all from New South Wales, were found and their bodies have been recovered.

Beachport is a picturesque coastal town that draws many keen fishers,  it sits about 311 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and about 34 kilometres north-west of Millicent, at the northern end of Rivoli Bay.  It has a jetty used by fishers and has a commercial fishing and crayfish fleet.

Police thanked the emergency service personnel and members of the public who helped in the search for the men.

Members of the public were asked not to collect debris from the boat and to leave them where they were found for police to collect.
