Swimmers were evacuated from a popular beach south of Adelaide after a frightening shark attack on man.
The man was swimming near the Port Noarlunga jetty when he was mauled at about 9.45am on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the scene with reports that a male had been bitten by a shark.
He was helped from the water and treated at the scene by paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The shark victim reportedly suffered injuries to his thigh.
People have been asked to avoid the area.
It was the same beach that surfer Tod Gendle was knocked off his board and taken by a shark in October 2023, with his body never recovered.
