Solstice Media, publisher of InDaily, The New Daily, Australian Traveller Media and 7am Podcast, has launched a new finance newsletter and website, called The Money Edition.

Solstice Media managing director Paul Hamra said that while there were a number of business and finance media outlets writing for a business audience but few focused on a broader readership simply interested in what is happening to their money.

“The Money Edition has been established to explain what is happening in the economy and how it is impacting people’s hip pocket,” he said.

The Money Edition has a team of several journalists and has signed a number of high-profile specialist finance writers to contribute to the publication.

Editor Sebastian Sinclair was most recently the Asia-Pacific editor at Decrypt and deputy editor Stuart Marsh was most recently news editor at nine.com.au.

The Money Edition has a continually updated daily website and an email edition distributed to more than 250,000 subscribers to the One Solstice audience network on Tuesdays and Thursdays around lunchtime. The publication will launch a podcast and events in early 2027.

Sinclair said Australians are being asked to make increasingly tough financial decisions at a time when the economy, markets and cost of living are quickly shifting.

Stay informed, daily

“Interest rates affect mortgages and savings. Global markets affect super. Government policy can change what households pay, earn and invest. New technology is reshaping jobs and businesses,” he said.

“But too often, financial news tells you what happened without explaining what it means for you. That is the gap we want to fill.”

The Money Edition will be sent by email to subscribers at no charge on Tuesdays and Thursdays and updated daily online.
