SA Power Networks welcomes legal chief
Amanda Devonish has joined SA Power Network’s executive leadership team as chief legal and risk officer.
Devonish has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial and corporate legal practice across Australia and the Middle East.
She was most recently general counsel and company secretary at Epic Energy and was company secretary and senior corporate lawyer at Santos.
Devonish previously served as acting vice-president of legal at Abu Dhabi Airports Company where she was responsible for the facilities management, operations and information technology teams.
LGA senior appointment
The Local Government Association of SA has appointed Mat Werfel to its team as senior advocacy adviser.
Werfel has more than two decades of experience in ministerial advisory, public policy and national agency roles including as an adviser to Minister Emily Bourke across recreation, sport and racing.
He is currently a director at Kentish and Bentley, and the Asbestos and Dust Diseases Research Institute where he serves on the audit, finance and risk committee.

Werfel has held senior leadership roles in communications and stakeholder relations at the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency and was a manager and chief of staff for several federal members of parliament.
“Mat brings a strong background in public policy, advocacy and community engagement and is looking forward to working with councils across South Australia to support positive outcomes for local communities,” an LGA SA statement said.
Senior promotions at accounting firm
Tilbrook Rasheed Chartered Accountants has announced the promotions of Emily Ware and Ben Homburg from managers to senior associates.
Ware has worked at Tilbrook Rasheed for almost ten years after joining the company as an undergraduate.
Since then, she has held several roles within the company including as a senior accountant and a manager where she has developed an expertise in aged care sectors.
Ware is highly regarded for her technical expertise where she assists clients in navigating financial challenges and achieving their strategic goals.
Homburg joined the company as an undergraduate in 2017 while studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Adelaide.
He has held several different roles at the company and was recognised by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2022 for placing in the top five per cent candidates worldwide for financial reporting, management accounting, and taxation.
Homburg specialises across the hospitality sector and with family businesses, bringing deep knowledge and insight that have made him an invaluable resource for clients within these specialised markets.
“These promotions recognise their outstanding contribution, dedication, and leadership within the company,” a company statement said.

Adelaide Festival Centre Trust appointments
Jasmin Shahin has been appointed for the first time as a member of the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust.
Shahin has experience in business, legal and corporate governance, having held legal and commercial roles in private practice and large companies,
She was previously the head of strategy for ASX-listed company Viva Energy which encompasses more than 1300 service stations nationwide under brands including OTR, Reddy Express, and Liberty.
Shahin also serves on the board and finance, investment and risk committee of the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation and is a board member for the Bundanon Trust and Atayf Family Office.
Penny Griggs and Adelaide City Councillor Phillip Martin have been reappointed to the board.
Griggs has served on the board since August 2023 and has provided governance and leadership to the board and committee.
She is the CEO of the Adelaide Central School of Art and was the former CEO of the SA Living Artists Festival.
Martin has been reappointed as the City of Adelaide’s nominated representative to the Trust.
He has extensive experience in board governance across local government and media.
“Congratulations Jasmin, and also to Phillip Martin and Penelope Griggs on their reappointments, and I would also like to thank Michael Abbott for his significant contribution to the Trust,” Arts Minister Kyam Maher said.
Senior appointment at DW Fox Tucker
Lisa Casella has been promoted to senior associate at Adelaide law firm DW Fox Tucker.
Casella has more than 10 years’ experience across employment and industrial relations law where she has advised and represented employers in a diverse range of industries.
Prior to joining DW Fox Tucker, Casella was senior consultant of workplace relations for the SA Business Chamber where she advised businesses in employment and industrial relations matters.
She was also a corporate compliance and policy officer at Junction Australia and an associate solicitor at Nick Xenophon and Co Lawyers.
“Lisa has been a fantastic addition to our team. Her depth of experience, practical approach and strong understanding of the workplace landscape have made her a valuable asset to both our clients and the firm,” DW Fox Tucker Lawyers director Ben Duggan said.
