Top SA wine businesses in the running for major award
The best of South Australia’s wine tourism industry is on show at a major award, with winners set to take on top-shelf businesses from across the planet.
Eleven of South Australia’s best wineries and tourism offerings are in the running for a major award that celebrates the companies helping to strengthen the state’s wine destination reputation.
The likes of the Barossa’s Chateau Tanunda and the iconic d’Arenberg Cube will battle it out for the 2027 Great Wine Capitals Best Of Wine Tourism Award later this month.
Winning businesses will then progress to the international Best Of Wine Tourism Awards in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, in October.

Primary Industries and Regional Development Minister Clare Scriven said the awards were “a celebration of the exceptional people and businesses that showcase the best of South Australia and make a valuable contribution to our regional communities and economy”.
“South Australia is recognised around the world for our premium wine and outstanding visitor experiences, which are underpinned by hard work, innovation and passion for our wine industry.”
The awards are presented as part of Adelaide’s membership in the Great Wine Capitals Global Network – a group of 10 internationally renowned wine regions including the Napa Valley (US), Bordeaux (France), Bilbao (Spain) and Porto (Portugal).

This year marks the 10th anniversary of SA joining the Great Wine Capitals Network.
Winners will be chosen by an independent panel featuring SA wine and tourism leader Helen Edwards AM, journalist Katie Spain and Adelaide University Associate Professor and marketing scientist Justin Cohen.
