Renewal SA chief executive announced
Shane Wingard has been appointed by the state government as the new chief executive of Renewal SA.
Wingard has more than 25 years of experience across the property sector, where he has led urban renewal, industrial and defence projects across South Australia.
He has spent the past nine years at Renewal SA in several different roles, including as executive director of property and major projects, leading projects at Southwark Grounds, Bowden and Playford Alive.
Wingard was formerly a project director at Rivergum Homes, a property manager at Colliers and was a commercial leasing manager for Adelaide Airport.
“He has already proven his ability to lead the organisation through a period of change, and I look forward to working with him as Renewal SA continues to deliver more homes and major projects for South Australians,” Housing Minister Nick Champion said.
CEO to lead IT services provider
National IT managed services provider Wireless Communications has appointed Peter Piliouras as its new CEO.
Piliouras is a senior executive leader with extensive experience across retail, operations, franchising, and petrol. He joins the company after serving as CEO of Star Pharmacy Group.

Piliouras has held several senior leadership roles at Peregrine Corporation, including as chief commercial officer and chief operating officer of OTR, where he was responsible for overseeing large-scale operations and commercial strategy.
He is also the co-founder of technology business FDBK and was previously one of InDaily’s inaugural 40 Under 40 award winners.
“Having known Peter for 15 years and being often envious of his remarkable abilities, it truly feels like a pinch-yourself moment to have his exceptional talents now benefiting our business and our customers alike,” Wireless Communications director Dwayne Bonner said.
Adelaide Hills Council appoints acting CEO
Adelaide Hills Council has appointed Roberto Bria as its acting CEO from September while a recruitment process gets underway.
Bria is a board director and former executive with more than 40 years’ experience navigating complex challenges across government, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
He has held several roles across the local government sector, including as the former CEO and general manager of business services at Holdfast Bay City Council.
Bria has also served as a member of the audit and risk committees for Port Adelaide Enfield Council, City of Whyalla, City of Walkerville and Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority.
“We are fortunate to have recruited an experienced CEO of Mr Bria’s calibre and I feel confident he will provide the steady leadership and guidance required whilst we recruit our substantive CEO,” Adelaide Hills Mayor Nathan Daniell said.

Marketing manager joins Adelaide Festival
Experienced marketing professional India Ward has been appointed as the new marketing manager of the Adelaide Festival.

Ward has served as a marketing professional across Adelaide’s major festivals for several years, including as marketing and communications manager of Illuminate Adelaide for the past four years.
She has also previously held roles as a marketing coordinator for WOMADelaide festival, Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide Festival and Art Gallery of South Australia.
In the new role, Ward will be responsible for managing events, merchandise, partnership deliverables, and content coordination for the Adelaide Festival.
“I’m excited to be back, to take on this new challenge, and to contribute to one of Australia’s most iconic arts festivals,” Ward said.
Adelaide law firm appointments
Commercial law firm Laity Morrow has announced that Kerry Morrow has been appointed managing director, while Philip Laity has moved into the role of executive chair.
Morrow is an experienced legal professional with more than 25 years’ experience working as a lawyer, including as a partner at Johnson Winter Slattery.
She was formerly the head of mergers and acquisitions and corporate at Laity Morrow, where she specialised in corporate governance, agribusiness and intellectual property law.
Morrow has acted for listed and unlisted companies, institutions and not-for-profit organisations across a broad range of industries.
Laity has close to 30 years’ experience across the legal sector and was formerly a partner at Johnson Winter Slattery for more than 15 years.
He has been appointed as executive chair after formerly serving as Laity Morrow’s managing director since 2013.
Laity specialises in corporate and project financing, as well as property and infrastructure projects across a diverse range of industries including defence, electricity, gas, water, steel, rail, health, and biotechnology.
“These changes position us well to continue the same client and team-focused approach for which we are known and to realise our vision of being the leading independent provider of high-quality commercial and strategic legal services based in Adelaide,” Morrow said.
Purple Giraffe welcomes AI specialist
Adelaide marketing consultancy Purple Giraffe has appointed Subarshan Thiyagarajah as an AI and digital solutions consultant.
Thiyagarajah has more than eight years’ experience across AI, having built and scaled software delivery teams and delivered digital solutions across the UK, Sri Lanka and Australia.
He was previously the head of delivery and operations at London-based technology company 10QBIT and was also the company’s first technical project manager.
In the new role, Thiyagarajah will be responsible for managing and implementing AI solutions, delivering website projects, and improving technological systems to improve efficiency.
“He is also a genuine people person, known for the energy he brings and for mentoring others, particularly young graduates starting out in their careers,” a Purple Giraffe spokesperson said.
