Life Ed SA appoints new CEO
Children’s health education provider Life Ed SA has appointed Karla Della Pietra as its new CEO.
Della Pietra is an experienced executive within sport administration and not-for-profit organisations, where she specialised in organisational leadership, governance, strategy and stakeholder engagement.
She joins from Volleyball SA, where she was responsible for leading a rebrand and the progression of new facilities at Bonython Park.
Before that, Della Pietra was an events manager for Netball SA and Adelaide Thunderbirds and has been chair of the community engagement working group for Volleyball Australia.
“Her skills and experience stood out from the start. We’re confident she’ll bring fresh thinking and a sharp eye for how we grow, while staying true to our purpose,” Life Ed SA board chair Tom Beresford said.
CEO appointed at Novita
Disability support service Novita has appointed experienced healthcare leader Emma Poland as its new CEO.

Poland has more than 20 years’ experience in senior roles across the health, aged care, disability and community services sectors.
She has been the CEO of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network since 2024, which spans 17 sites and employs more than 1300 staff members.
Poland was previously chief operating officer of Albury Wodonga Health and has held several senior leadership positions at Calvary Health Care, including as national operations manager of hospitals.
“She brings experience from both the private and public health sectors, and her leadership will be critical as we continue to diversify our business and position Novita for the disability services of the future,” Novita president Andrew Daniels said.
St Mark’s welcomes new leader
North Adelaide university residential college St Mark’s College has announced Anna Owen as its new head of college, to commence in January next year.
Owen has more than two decades of leadership experience across the education sector and is currently the principal of Sunshine Coast Grammar in Queensland, where she led the school as it delivered the best graduate results in its history.
Owen was also previously principal of Canberra Girls Grammar School, deputy principal at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, head of teaching and learning at Moreton Bay College and head of senior school at Ipswich Girls Grammar.
“Anna brings strong academic credentials, exceptional leadership experience and a passion for higher education that prepares young people for life beyond university,” St Mark’s College board chair Jane Jeffreys said.

Senior appointments at Cartland Law

Adelaide-headquartered tax law practice Cartland Law has made two senior appointments.
Joseph Primerano has been appointed as Cartland Law’s first partner of the firm after serving as a senior associate solicitor for the past five years.
Primerano is both a lawyer and chartered accountant and previously worked as a senior chartered accountant for Le Cornu Lewis Hancock.
He specialises in complex tax matters, providing clients with assistance and advice on tax compliance, financial reporting, and business structuring.
Richard Lyons has also joined Cartland Law as a senior associate solicitor after working in national and international law firms.
Lyons has more than 10 years’ experience across taxation and commercial law at WRP Legal across both SA and NSW.
He specialises in taxation law, with a focus on tax structuring issues, capital gains tax concessions, and tax disputes.
“I am delighted to announce Joseph as a partner of the firm. His dedication, outstanding legal and accounting acumen, as well as his leadership skills, amount to a very well-deserved promotion,” Cartland Law principal Adrian Cartland said.
Adelaide City of Music senior appointment
Adelaide City of Music has appointed Charlotte Sterenberg as its new project manager.
Sterenberg is a musicologist and arts professional with experience across arts administration, festivals, and community engagement.
She is a board member at Australian youth music charity The Push and has previously been a program coordinator at Carclew and artist ticketing coordinator at Adelaide Fringe.
In the new role, Sterenberg will assist the organisation as it looks to expand and increase its impact of Adelaide’s UNESCO City of Music designation.
“As a passionate supporter of South Australian artists, we’re thrilled to have her contribute to Adelaide’s UNESCO City of Music mission to celebrate and create opportunities for the state’s diverse music community across the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and beyond,” an Adelaide City of Music spokesperson said.
