Iondrive appoints new CEO

Australian critical minerals and battery technology company Iondrive has appointed Dr Grant Caffery as its new CEO, effective August 1.

Caffery has more than two decades of experience across the mining industry, formerly working at BHP, where he held roles including head of innovation and head of strategic planning.

He is currently a director at mining consulting firm Clareo and managing director at Persephone Resources, and was formerly the energy group business development manager at CSIRO.

In the new role, Caffery will lead the company as it advances the commercialisation of its IONSolv critical minerals processing technology and its international expansion.

“His track record leading innovation and commercialisation within one of the world’s largest resources companies is exactly what Iondrive needs as it scales into production,” Iondrive chairman Michael McNeilly said.

Surf Life Saving SA welcomes CEO

James Sellers has been appointed as the new CEO of Surf Life Saving SA to commence in October this year.

Sellers has more than 15 years’ experience in leading both small and large-scale businesses, where he has specialised in sustainable business growth.

He is currently CEO at Scouts SA, where he has overseen organisational transformation, major financial turnaround and initiatives to strengthen engagement across its more than 5000 volunteers and 150 staff.

Sellers is also board chair for Adelaide Hills Tourism and was the former general manager of Cleland Wildlife Park at the Department of Environment and Water.

Scyne appoints managing director

Scyne has appointed Dr Michelle Perugini as its new managing director to commence on September 1.

Perugini is an experienced leader and entrepreneur across artificial intelligence, healthcare and technology sectors, who is the current board chair of Qubigen and a board member for the Adelaide Economic Development Agency.

She is the founder of two global AI technology companies – AI medical imaging company Presagen and predictive analytics software company ISD Analytics.

In the new role, Perugini will work nationally with government and industry clients, supporting organisations to unlock value through AI, innovation and digital transformation.

Link4 names first chief operating officer

SA-based electronic-invoicing provider Link4 has appointed Biela McMillan as the company’s first chief operating officer.

McMillan has two decades of experience in governance, communications and operations, and will be tasked with aligning the sales, marketing, customer support and delivery teams at Link4.

Prior to joining Link4, McMillan was the executive business and strategic projects manager at Transform Consultancy and executive program manager at Kenvado Pure Oils.

She also held media and communications roles at SA Police, Minda Incorporated, and was brand and communications manager for Renew Adelaide.

“The opportunity to support customers across multiple countries while helping the business scale its operations is something I am incredibly passionate about,” McMillan said.

Senior appointments at Alligator Energy

Mining and exploration company Alligator Energy has welcomed Jake van der Hoek and Nick Peters in senior roles.

Van der Hoek has been appointed as Alligator Energy’s new company secretary, where he will be responsible for maintaining strong governance processes and regulatory compliance.

He has extensive corporate governance experience in the mining sector and currently serves as company secretary for Lincoln Minerals, Archer Materials and Hillgrove Resources.

He also holds a senior role at HLB Mann Judd, where he is a corporate director, and was previously a relationship manager at investment services company Computershare.

Peters has been appointed as a senior financial accountant to support Alligator Energy as it looks to advance its Samphire Uranium Project.

He has more than 10 years’ experience in financial reporting, governance and business support across ASX-listed companies as a financial controller for fertiliser manufacturer NeuRizer.

Peters was also an accountant for ARK Energy and was project manager of financial systems transition at TAFE SA.

Perks appointments

Perks has appointed four associate directors across its tax consulting, accounting and business services, and people solutions teams.

Roy Abbas has been appointed as an associate director of tax consulting after serving as a senior tax specialist at Perks since 2017.

Abbas is experienced across corporate tax compliance and specialist tax advisory, having worked with medium to large organisations on complex corporate tax matters.

Prior to joining Perks, Abbas was a business adviser at Moore Stephens International, a business adviser at Hayes Knight SA and NT, and a taxation officer at the Australian Taxation Office.

George Papanicolaou has been appointed as an associate director of accounting and business services after joining the company in April.

Papanicolaou has more than 16 years’ experience in advising businesses in the property and construction sector to assist owners in navigating growth and tax complexity.

He formerly worked at Nexia Edwards Marshall for more than 10 years in senior roles, including director and senior manager and was a supervisor at BDO.

Megan Kivell has been promoted to an associate director of recruitment services after joining Perks in 2022.

Kivell has worked across ASX-listed companies, international corporations, not-for-profit organisations and local government to assist organisations in recruiting accounting professionals and senior executives.

Prior to joining Perks, Kivell was a section manager of accounting and finance at Hays and was previously an audit and self-managed super fund accountant at BDO.

Collette Ordish has been appointed as an associate director of human resources consulting after joining in 2022.

Ordish has more than 20 years’ experience in human resources and organisational development and has supported organisations across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors to navigate complex people challenges.

She was previously the head of human resources and organisational development at SAHMRI and was a human resources adviser at SkyCity in Adelaide.
