A major grid-scale battery is set to be constructed in the state’s Mid North to power new large-scale artificial intelligence factories.
The AI factories are proposed to be built by Firmus, who announced a 12-year wholesale energy supply agreement with Gunvor Group for 600 MW of firm energy to support its strategy.
The 200 MW / 800 MWh grid-forming battery will be constructed at Brinkworth and underpins the first-phase development of a 2.7 GW combined capacity at Firmus’ Tailem Bend and Stirling North sites.
“Importantly, this major new 200 megawatt / 800 megawatt hour battery is being delivered ahead of Firmus’s major investments in AI factories in our state,” Premier Peter Malinauskas said.
Leading national real estate developer Peet Limited has partnered with Tokyo Gas Real Estate Australia to launch a master-planned community at Onkaparinga Heights.
The new site will be called South and was expected to have approximately 320 new homes built some 32 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD.
New allotments were expected to average 350 square metres and have a starting price of $355,000, with plans to expand with future childcare facilities.
“Adelaide’s south has always been one of the city’s best-kept secrets, but the reality is that new housing supply simply hasn’t kept pace with demand in this part of the market,” Peet SA state manager Mark Devine said.
Prohibition Liquor Co has received one of the highest honours in the global spirits industry at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its Juniperus Gin.
The Juniperus Gin was awarded the Platinum Medal by judges for its sustained excellence, becoming just the fourth Australian gin to achieve the status.
The prestigious award is only given to spirits that achieve the Double Gold status for three consecutive years.
It follows multiple Best in the World trophies at the World Drinks Awards in London earlier this month in both the spirits and marketing categories.
“Winning a Platinum Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is an incredible honour because it recognises consistency over time, not just a single outstanding year,” Prohibition Liquor Co managing director Adam Carpenter said.
ASX-listed Adelaide company Iondrive Limited has secured support from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for the proposed development of an advanced rare earth recycling and critical mineral processing facility in the United States.
Iondrive has received a Letter of Support, with the company’s first module estimated to have a potential value of up to US $5.2 million which could scale up to more than US $15 million.
The proposed facility in Oklahoma would assist the commercial rollout of IONSolv technology which extracts high-value metals from e-waste, batteries, solar panels and mining tailings.
“The support we have received from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce is an important endorsement of Iondrive’s strategy to establish a domestic rare earth recovery platform in the United States,” Iondrive CEO Lewis Utting said.

Two experienced communication and government consultancies Ace Strategies and Grant Law Public Relation have partnered to strengthen and grow services.
In an announcement, the two companies said the partnership aimed to boost capability to support organisations in government, defence, national security, and health sectors in complex and high-stakes environments across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
They said this was expected to support clients with integrated strategic communications, content production and broadcast-ready assets, access to national and international networks and senior counsel from experienced practitioners.
“The partnership enhances the ability of both firms to support clients’ business development objectives across the full lifecycle of communication, engagement, and reputation needs,” Ace Strategies managing director Matt Neagle said.
