Regional council appoints new CEO

Lower Eyre Council has welcomed Marnie Lock as its new chief executive officer.

Lock has more than 30 years’ experience in senior roles across local government, economic development, commercial operations and tourism.

She formerly worked at the City of Holdfast Bay for more than a decade in a range of different roles including general manager of community and business and manager of city activation.

Lock was also an event manager for Surf Life Saving Australia where she was responsible for establishing and negotiating contract and service agreements with local government authorities.

“Marnie is recognized as a strategic, outcomes-focused leader who delivers long-term organisational direction, embeds high-performance cultures and navigates complex regulatory environments with clarity and confidence,” Mayor Jo-Anne Quigley said.

Motorsport professional joins SA Board

Experienced international motorsport executive Judith Griggs has been appointed to the South Australian Motor Sports Board.

Griggs has more than 40 years of legal and commercial experience across international sport, media and entertainment, including 25 years working in Formula One.

She was formerly the chief operating officer of Geneva-based company Allsport Management, which manages the sale of almost all Formula One trackside advertising and was the CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.

Griggs has also set up her own sports rights management business in London, where she has managed the commercial rights for clients in sport and entertainment.

“Judith’s wealth of expertise in global sport will serve the South Australian Motor Sport Board extremely well and I warmly welcome her to the role, as we continue to ensure SA remains the home of motorsport in this country,” Premier Peter Malinauskas said.

Board expansion and financial officer for Unity Housing

Allison Berry

Unity Housing has appointed Allison Berry as its new chief finance officer and welcomed two new board members following a recent merger with YourPlace Housing.

Berry has more than two decades of experience in senior leadership roles, including as the recent general manager of corporate services for Rembrandt Living.

She has worked in finance roles across both commercial and not-for-profit organisations, serving as chief operating officer for Fight Food Waste.

Berry was also the acting chief financial officer and head of finance for social services company AnglicareSA and as a finance manager for RAA.

Aaron Chia

Former CEO of Guide Dogs SA and NT Aaron Chia has joined as YourPlace Housing board member.

Chia is an experienced board director and chair, having served as chair for Community Business Bureau for more than 20 years.

He was also CEO of the Motor Accident Commission, deputy CEO of SA Ambulance Service and chief financial officer for SA Lotteries.

Experienced corporate lawyer Megan Jongebloed has also joined the board.

Jongebloed is experienced in advising organisations in the aged care and retirement living sector with a focus on acquisitions and divestments, restructuring and ongoing governance.

She has worked at Cowel Clarke for more than 18 years in a range of different roles including, partner, director and chair.

Architecture firm welcomes project leader and four new staff

North Adelaide-based architecture and interior design firm Matthew Architects has appointed five new team members.

Jacques van Tonder joins the firm from South Africa as senior designer and project leader.

van Tonder has more than 20 years’ experience as a registered architect working across large-scale commercial, retail, hospitality, transport infrastructure and civic buildings.

He previously held a principal role at one of South Africa’s largest architectural firms SVA International where he managed the company’s Johannesburg studio.

Matthew Architects has also welcomed Bruce Sun, Ping Ern Gan, Daniela Zapater, and Jordan Bower to the firm as graduates of architecture.

“Every one of our new team members brings a diverse and valuable perspective, whether that’s technical skills, international experience, or a passion for a particular sector within the industry,” Matthews Architects managing director and senior architect Gerald Matthews said.

TGB Lawyers promotes 16

Adelaide-based law firm TGB Lawyers has promoted 16 staff members effective from July 1.

The cohort includes a range of promotions from partners, special counsel, senior associates, associates and an administrative manager.

“Our achievements are not the result of any one individual, but the combined effort, commitment, and expertise of every person in this firm. Thank you all for your individual and collective contributions throughout this financial year,” TGB managing partner Tim White said.

Five staff have been promoted to partners including Daniel Weekley, Alex Svenson, Olla Kutieleh, Deanna Tanaskovic, and Lianna Ferraro.

Weekley specialises in criminal and disciplinary law and was elevated to the role of criminal practice leader for SA and WA in June 2025 where he advises a broad array of clients on criminal matters.

Svenson has worked at TGB Lawyers for more than a decade, specialising in family law, divorce, property settlement, and child support legal cases.

Deanna Tanaskovic

Kutieleh has spent more than 14 years at the firm working as a personal injury lawyer with an expertise in class action lawsuits, motor vehicle accident injury and workers’ compensation.

Tanaskovic joined TGB Lawyers in 2017 and has worked as a family law advocate specialising in divorce, property settlement and matrimonial relationships.

Lianna Ferraro

Ferraro practises in personal injury law with a focus on complex injury, medical negligence and hearing loss claims, working across both SA and WA.

Purple Giraffe appoints marketing consultant

Experienced advertising and marketing professional Shrey Banerjee has joined Purple Giraffe as a marketing consultant.

Shreya Banerjee

Banerjee has 18 years of experience across healthcare, tourism and hospitality sectors as an art director, brand consultant and team leader.

She was the former brand marketing manager for travel company Bunnik Tours and marketing manager for medical company CMAX Clinical Research.

Banerjee has also spent more than a decade working in India, serving as business head for NH1 Design in Delhi and managing partner for art museum Ohso Boho India.

“Her collaborative approach, research-driven strategies, and ability to turn complex challenges into actionable solutions align perfectly with the demands of today’s ever-evolving business landscape,” Purple Giraffe said.
