End Food Waste Australia has announced Wendy Hughes as new CEO following three months in the role as acting CEO.

Hughes has more than 20 years’ experience in leadership roles across government, agribusiness, and higher education sectors.
She was director of policy, communications and strategic engagement at EFWA, where she led initiatives to drive systems-level change in food waste, food security, and food system reform.
Hughes has previous experience leading the CEO of COUCH Cancer Hub in Cairns, where she focused on financial stabilisation and strengthening operational resilience.
“Wendy has quickly built strong relationships across our industry, government and CRC partners, helping ensure research is translated into outcomes that benefit businesses, communities and the environment,” EFWA board chair Geoff Starr said.
The RAA has appointed Mark Thomson as its new chief transformation officer.

Thomson brings more than 25 years’ experience in consulting with expertise in commercial strategy and transformation to the new role.
He worked at business management consultant PwC Adelaide for more than 20 years, including roles as national infrastructure strategy and economics leader and was recently managing director and SA lead for Scyne Advisory.
Thomson is also a board member at Pulteney Grammar School and was previously treasurer at the Institute of Public Administration Australia for a decade.
“We’re excited to have him on board as we continue to evolve RAA, strengthen our member offering and position the organisation for long-term success,” RAA CEO Nick Reade said.
KWP+Partners has appointed James Pash as creative director as the company looks to build its national team.

Pash has 18 years’ experience in creative industries across London, Sydney, and Dublin, previously serving as creative director for Sydney-based independent advertising and design company Emotive.
He was also senior creative for Dublin advertising agency Rothco, now Droga5 Dublin, and Whybin TBWA where he created original campaigns for Foxtel.
Pash began his career as a copywriter for London-based Gyro International and was a copywriter for several different clients including Commonwealth Bank as a copywriter at BMF Advertising.
“The work is exceptional, the humour isn’t far behind, and he’s a cracking human with it. He adds real strength to an already strong national creative team, and I’m thrilled to welcome him into the fold,” KWP+Partners executive director of advertising Sam Talbot said.

Piper Alderman has announced the promotion of three staff members in its Adelaide firm.

Travis Shueard has been appointed as partner after five years at the company as a senior associate and special counsel.
Shueard specialises in intellectual property law and advises in disputes relating to trademarks, designs, copyright and consumer law.
He is also a leader in the defence industry where he advises a range of defence companies on legal and regulatory issues and currently serves as deputy chair for the Defence Teaming Centre.

Liberty Privopoulos has been promoted to special counsel after six years as a senior associate at Piper Alderman.
She has worked across corporate, commercial, agribusiness and cybersecurity law during her 13-year tenure at the company.
Privopoulos has previously been a board member for St George College and worked at other law firms including DMAW Lawyers and Cosoff Cudmore Knox.
Tabitha Mackenzie has been promoted from associate to a senior associate after three years in the role.

Mackenzie works within the company’s financial services and fintech team, specialising in mortgage enforcement.
Prior to her roles at Piper Alderman, she was a solicitor at Stewart-Rattray Lawyers and a Paralegal at Carter and Co Lawyers.
Adelaide’s oldest university residential college St Mark’s College has welcomed two new board members.

Michelle Cox is a senior executive with experience across general management and corporate services, currently serving as chief operating officer at Animal Welfare League of South Australia.
She is an experienced board director across the not-for-profit sector, previously holding a board position for salary packaging provider CBB for six years.
Cox was previously corporate services general manager at HenderCare and was chief people and financial officer for the South Australian Certificate of Education Board.

Alan Brideson has 30 years’ experience in the tertiary education sector and has held a range of senior positions at the University of South Australia.
He created and established the University’s public affairs unit as the first appointed PR manager, was the chief marketing and communications officer, and was chief of staff and interim chief academic services officer.
Brideson also worked at the Australian Electoral Commission as director of information where he was responsible for communications campaigns for federal elections.
