South Australian brand The Yoghurt Shop is making smooth moves in Thailand, the brand currently in the country for Asia’s largest food and beverage trade show, THAIFEX.

Yoghurt Shop’s chief operating officer and InDaily 40 Under 40 alumnus Brandon Reynolds said what started as a small trial of displays in Thailand’s Foodland Supermarkets has grown into major demand for SA dairy products.

The company’s range of 100g and 500g yoghurts was now available in all 22 Foodland stores throughout Thailand, Reynolds celebrating the “incredible milestone for our team and South Australian food manufacturing”.

“Due to very strong consumer response and sales performance, Foodland is now substantially expanding our range across their broader Bangkok network,” Reynolds said.

“[This growth] reflects the increasing demand for premium Australian dairy products within the region.”

The demand for the SA-made product in Thailand boosted sales for the SA-based company by 300 per cent in the early months of 2026.

Yoghurt Shop’s relationship with Foodland – which is unrelated to the South Australian supermarket chain of the same name – is now one of its most important within Southeast Asia, Reynolds said.

The news comes as a delegation of SA’s food companies, including The Yoghurt Shop, is at the food and beverage trade show, THAIFEX 2026.

The delegation includes classic SA brands such as Beerenberg, Bickfords, Penfolds and San Remo. With support from the state government, the group would have the opportunity to meet buyers, retailers, and importers from across the region.

State Development Minister Chris Picton travelled with the group to Thailand in SA’s first trade mission to the region in a decade.

Picton said the Southeast Asia region was a priority market, and SA exports to the region have jumped by $319 million year-on-year to March 2026.

“It’s clear there is strong demand for our state’s premium produce which will create more opportunities into the future,” Picton said.

While in Thailand, Picton joined Reynolds on a tour of Foodland Silom Park, hosted by Ramida Jongsupangkarat, commercial director of Foodland Supermarkets.

“The success of The Yoghurt Shop in Thailand is another great example of South Australian products making huge strides in key international markets because of their quality and reputation,” Picton said.
