Real estate company Raine and Horne has celebrated its biggest achievers at the 2025 South Australian Awards for Excellence at SkyCity Adelaide.
Raine and Horne’s Strathalbyn office was one of the standouts at the ceremony, taking home Top Office for Sales GCI and Top Rural Office Largest Sale/Auction awards.
The office’s principal Nick Grosvenor also secured Top Principal in both Sales GCI and Number of Sales Transactions categories.
The Murraylands office also saw success, taking out Top Office for the number of Sales Transactions, while Michael Cox was awarded Top Salesperson for both Sales GCI and Number of Sales Transactions in the residential sales category.
“These awards recognise the outstanding professionalism, effort and results delivered by our South Australian offices and their teams,” Raine and Horne executive chairman Angus Raine said.
AML3D has announced its largest-ever order, with US military shipbuilder Newport News Shipbuilding placing an order for four custom-built ARCEMY X industrial metal 3D printing systems.
Newport News Shipbuilding, which is a division of the US’s largest military shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls Industries, would use the ARCEMY X systems for a variety of shipbuilding applications, including ship component fabrication and replacement.
The deal worth $9.9 million would bring the number of ARCEMY X systems at Newport News Shipbuilding to six upon completion of the order.
“The step change in the size and value of this HII ARCEMY order is very much reflective of the strong and growing demand signals that underpin AML3D’s continued expansion into the U.S. defence market,” AML3D CEO Sean Ebert said.
Adelaide University launched a partnership with American tech conglomerate Cisco to boost sovereign AI and cybersecurity research and education.
The partnership would strengthen Adelaide University’s position as a global leader in AI research by embedding industry-leading insights and knowledge in networking technologies, data and cybersecurity into degree programs, the Unviersity said.
It would also explore the co-development of a security simulation called Cisco Cyber Range to help security teams identify and protect against cyber threats.
“Not only will the agreement facilitate important research in AI cybersecurity, but it also ensures study and research undertaken by Adelaide University students and staff is well aligned with Australia’s national priorities,” Adelaide University vice chancellor Professor Nicola Phillips said.
SA companies have been honoured at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) National Awards for Excellence.
The awards, presented at a gala dinner in Adelaide, recognised “exemplary work” by UDIA members in delivering complex development projects and creating connected communities.
SA real estate developer Peet took out the top honour of Project of the Year Award for its Fort Largs 200 home residential community project, with the project also earning the company the Best Masterplanned Communities award.
Associate director at Hames Sharley Madeleine Steele was also honoured with the Young Leaders award.
“We were pleased to celebrate great outcomes from across our membership, the sort of projects which underscore the strength of Australia’s urban development industry,” UDIA national president Oscar Stanley said.
A 40-storey residential and hotel tower development at Market Square has marked a significant milestone, with construction reaching its highest point.
The topping out of the $600 million development marks significant progress towards the delivery of 234 apartments, more than 11,000sqm of retail and dining space and a 248 room Treehouse Hotel.
The project is being delivered by Melbourne developer ICD Property and the City of Adelaide, with the topping out celebrated with cement handprints from Premier Peter Malinauskas and Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith.
“Projects like this create jobs, attract people back into the CBD and help ensure our city continues to evolve as one of the most liveable places in the country,” Malinauskas said.
Adelaide Airport has been awarded Best Airport Staff in the Australia and Pacific and Best Regional Airport in the Australia and Pacific region at the Skytrax World Airport Awards.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are decided based on World Airport Survey questionnaires which surveys airport customers across airport service to key performance indicators including check-in, shopping, security and immigration.
It is the first time Adelaide Airport has won the Best Airport Staff award, beating out fellow Australian airports in Brisbane and Melbourne, while the Best Regional Airport award was its fourth in five years.
“This award is fantastic recognition for the amazing work of our entire airport team – from our customer service staff including our volunteer ambassadors through to airline staff, retailers, cleaners, trolley operators, and security personnel,” Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said.
