Oil and gold prices continue to gain, with investors in some of SA’s top companies the winners.

A spike in Santos shares by 8.17 per cent landed the company in the top five Winners for the week in South Australia, a rarity considering the bigger spikes are usually generated by the state’s microcap companies.
Shares in the company rose on the back of a spike in oil prices, which were up nearly six per cent for the week and 15 per cent in January.
Other energy and resources companies landed in the top five Winners last week too, including Otto Energy, Terramin and Vintage Energy.
This was on the back of commodity prices spiking last week, with gold up four per cent (and 20 per cent over the month).
Silver was up nine per cent for the week but 56 per cent over the month, while copper rose 1.9 per cent for the week.
Of the Losers, Resolution Minerals fell by 24.26 per cent after issuing its quarterly results but remains up significantly over the year by 154.39 per cent.
Power Minerals was also down after releasing some drilling updates and its quarterly activities report, while Australian Rare Earths dipped 19.11 per cent after resuming trade on Friday following a $6 million capital raise.
