88-year-old charged with attempted murder

Police have charged an 88-year-old man with attempted murder after an incident in which an 85-year-old woman received serious injuries at Wingfield.

Police were called to a house at Fourth Street on Saturday after reports of a domestic disturbance.

The woman was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
