The state’s private and public companies have until mid-August to complete a submission for inclusion in the 2024 South Australian Business Index, InDaily’s authoritative ranking of the top 100 local companies.
Submissions opened today for the 2024 South Australian Business Index. Businesses of all sizes can complete a submission via the online form until Sunday, August 18.
Now in its tenth year, the South Australian Business Index is the state’s most definitive guide to our top private and public companies.
Ranking is based on independent research by Index partners HLB Mann Judd, with information received via the nominations process ensuring accuracy and completeness.
To be eligible for inclusion in the list, companies must:
HLB Mann Judd partner analyst Jon Colquohoun, whose firm has been proud sponsors of the SA Business Index for eight years, said the Index was a “pulse check of South Australia’s corporate financial performance” and “a great way of bringing attention to some of the state’s best performing companies”.
“The last year has seen the IPO market continue to remain cold, so with the exception of Tasmea which listed on the ASX during the year, there haven’t been many others,” he said.
“However, we always love to see new private companies join the Index – we know that there are so many more wonderful private companies out there in this state that would have earned a place in the South Australian Business Index, and we’re really hoping that we see more new unlisted and private companies apply to be part of it.”
Last year’s top 100 list saw the introduction of the space industry to the rankings, via Fleet Space Technologies, which debuted at #29 as Best New Entrant.
Last year’s other award winners were Chrysos Limited (Revenue Growth), Santos Limited (Standout Large Employer) and Hillgrove Resources (Rising Star).
Companies owned in part or whole by government, government agencies and organisations, and registered charities are not eligible for consideration in the main Index.
“The Index is not only a great way to measure the financial performance of the state’s corporate sector, but also to showcase and recognise the many outstanding businesses that call SA home,” Colquohoun said.
“As a locally owned business ourselves, there is nothing we enjoy doing more than helping other businesses, whether they be family businesses, private or unlisted public companies or ASX listed companies achieve their goals and seeing them and the other wonderful SA businesses enter and climb the Index is very rewarding.”
The top 100 companies will be revealed at the South Australian Business Index lunch at Adelaide Convention Centre on September 20.
