Executive manager and event organiser, Tim Grieger, said it is a great pleasure to bring together the agricultural business promotion and marketing expo that is so important to the regions after the last one was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The Riverland Field Days, which have been running since 1958, will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, at the Riverland Events Centre in Barmera from 9am to 5pm.

“It is something that we have been working on for many years,” Grieger said.

“It is put on and particularly run by a volunteer team and it’s that volunteer team that works so hard in the event to the region each year and to the site that it is held on.

“The volunteers are the ones that make it happen.”

Around 14,000 people are expected to attend throughout the course of the two days.

“It [The Field Days] is there for everyone to participate in with a range of different activities for families and children to be a part of and enjoy a day out,” Grieger said.

Grieger said a new event, a V8 lawn mower challenge, has been added to the regular events such as the wildlife display, magic shows, parade and music performances.

He said the Riverland Field Days are also a great opportunity for businesses across the region to showcase their products and services to a broader community.

“It is a way for a community to see a whole range of businesses, products and services in the one place at the one time,” Grieger said.

“The support and enthusiasm shown by exhibitors from all sectors have been outstanding and they are keen to be a part of an excellent Field Days event.”

He said people have come from as far afield as Broome in Western Australia and Queensland to visit and exhibit at the Field Days.

“We have had exhibitors from all states of Australia and people attending all over the country,” he said.
