Everyone has the opportunity to help local charities as the ANZ Community Ball’s online auction goes live before Saturday’s big event.

Tickets to the annual charity event have all but sold out, but anyone who wants to help the 12 charities supported at the ball can head online to an auction portal hosting dozens of amazing items donated by local businesses.
Event organiser Brendan Rinaldi, Head of Health at ANZ Corporate and Institutional Banking, said he was pleased that most tickets had been sold to the March 5 event at the Adelaide Convention Centre, but limited capacity numbers meant that they were relying on the auctions more than in previous years to raise funds for the charities.
The event has become a premier charity event in South Australia with over $560,000 raised for local charities across the past two events thanks to support from the community.
This year a further 12 local charities are being supported with major beneficiaries including Operation Flinders, Jodi Lee Foundation, Royal Flying Doctor Service (Central Operations), Zoos SA, Hutt St Centre and SAHMRI.
Rinaldi said the online auction had seen amazing support from local businesses and also featured a car raffle.
“The event has had some amazing support by the local business community. In particular, Andrew Kittle from Peter Kittle Toyota who has again donated a car for the major raffle, this year being a Toyota Hybrid Yaris Cross valued at $35,000,” Rinaldi said.
“It really is a key component of our fundraising on the night and we hope the broader public can get involved to purchase tickets as all proceeds go direct to the charity pool.”
Rinaldi said the more than 500 guests at the ball could also participate in the live auction, which features many items and experiences donated by local businesses and always attracts plenty of interest.
“The live auction has really come together with prizes valued at over $160,000, many of which are unique experiences exclusive to South Australia,” Rinaldi said.
“We have packages from well-known wineries such as Yalumba, Dowie Doole and a combined package by Kaesler, Saint & Scholar and Yarra Yering which all have values in the order of $30,000 each.”
There is also a Tesla 2 Battery pack in the live auction which has been donated by Zen Energy.
The environment is a key feature of this year’s ball with sponsor James McLeay of LMS Energy helping keep the event green.
“LMS Energy has committed to offsetting 100 per cent of the carbon footprint of the event by donating Australian Carbon Credit Units,” McLeay said.
