Commenting on the story: ‘One of the greatest’: Russell Ebert named Sport SA Hall of Fame ‘legend’

Russell Ebert was easily the best SANFL footballer I’ve ever seen.

Robran was injured by the time I was old enough to watch him. Absolute dominant presence in the golden SANFL era. Just as good off the field.

All the best Russell and thanks for being a pleasure to watch, even though you seemed to save your best for when you played against my beloved Bulldogs. – Anthony Whellum

Russell Ebert embodies completely the definition of legend in every possible way.

His football mastery was superhuman and his humbleness and devotion to community causes is profoundly admired.

Congratulations legend and thank you. – Angelo Quici

Always a legend! – Brian Chant
