Commenting on the story: Patients still waiting as RAH struggles with ‘major emergency’
Surely here is the time for the Premier, the Minister of Health and the chief executivw of SA Health to come out from hiding and take up MLC Connie Bonaros’s invitation to visit the RAH Emergency Department and show some genuine persona concern for the patients, and for the staff and ancillary/ambulance workers struggling to maintain some semblance of medical care in a system devoid of appropriate resources and totally overwhelmed.
This is the time for some semblance of leadership and responsibility from our political representatives.

We cannot stop development, but we also need to respect and maintain its authenticity as a place of Adelaideans to trade, shop, meet and socialise.
This is the ‘sense of place’ that both locals and visitors would like to experience; not a manufactured Hollywood-style leisure outing that commercialises a local lifestyle. If you put the locals away, the next to go (most possibly to any other Hollywood-style market) will be the visitors/tourists. – Marianna Sigala

The Central Markets is one of my favourite places in Adelaide and of any visitors taken there. It needs to stay the same, not “developed “ into a place of trendy shops and cafes. – Alice Kelly
I’m greatly concerned. The gentrification of the Adelaide city market will be the end of era.
You only have to look at around the world to see that these mega-developments will spell the end of family run businesses, replaced with bright shiny global brands. The two year construction and closing of the car parks will not entice people to visit the market. The charm and atmosphere of the Central Market is going to disappear. – Darrin Briggs
