A “mistress class”, in case you’re wondering, is The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society’s alternative to a “master class”. This one is being held over 2.5 hours at Treasury 1860 on King William Street and will focus on five Champagnes produced by the Champagne Jeeper brand, served with a three-course dinner. Participants will also learn about the Champagne-making process, the difference between various wines, and more. Tickets (here) are $170, or $150 for Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society members.
Peel Street venues have teamed up with Bombay Sapphire to present a four-day festival they say will transform the laneway into a “botanical wonderland”. The 10 participating small bars will each create a new cocktail highlighting one of the botanicals found in the gin, and there will also be a pop-up outdoor bar, live bands and artists creating murals and other works along the street. Peel Street Restaurant is catering the outdoor festival, which will run from Thursday, December 12 until Sunday, December 15, from 4pm till late.
