Ex-Adelaide Brighton staffer faces court on fraud charges
An Adelaide woman accused of defrauding her former employer of more than $12.4 million over eight years has faced court for the first time.
Glenda Ivy Burgess, 61, appeared before Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with 230 dishonesty offences.
Police allege the offences took place while she was working at Adelaide Brighton Cement between 2009 and 2017, and that Burgess falsified records in her position as credit manager.
Magistrate Greg Fisher continued her bail to reappear before the same court next year.
Burgess made no comment outside court, but her lawyer, John Pearce, said she would deny the charges.

“She’ll be entering a plea of not guilty in due course,” he said.
“The matter will take a long time to resolve.
“This is a distressing experience for Glenda. It’s going to be long, drawn out.”
