In-demand AFL star Josh Kelly has reportedly agreed to re-sign with Greater Western Sydney, shunning big-money offers from rival clubs.
The 22-year-old midfielder has not yet re-signed but is said to be close to inking a two-year deal contract extension.
But it’s understood the club is not poised to make an announcement today on Kelly’s future.
The Victorian had been expected to extend his time at the Giants despite teams from his home state lining up to make bids.
He was reportedly offered a nine-year deal by North Melbourne worth $10 million, with the Giants’ contract believed to be worth around $300,000 less per season.
It comes amid an impressive 2017 campaign for Kelly, rewarded with his maiden All-Australian selection after averaging 29.4 disposals a game for GWS.
The Giants celebrated another list management win yesterday when 2012 No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield re-signed until 2020.
