Hills Limited has combined two senior management roles, meaning current company secretary Gai Stephens has lost her job.
Hills general counsel David Fox will take on the additional role of company secretary, with Stephens leaving the company from today.
Fox, who grew up in Adelaide and was educated at Flinders University, has been general counsel with Hills since 2013.
Before joining Hills’ Sydney corporate office, Fox was a partner at Sydney law firm Norton White.
In a statement, Hills CEO David Lenz said the move was part of the company’s push to simplify its corporate structure.
He and the board thanked Stephens for her contribution to the company over the past four years.
He said Fox had “vast experience in corporate law and is very familiar with the company and its key stakeholders”.
Ironically, Fox was reportedly recruited to the company by Stephens, who was also head of corporate services.
