Kyrgios gets hefty fine for petulant display
Nick Kyrgios has been lucky to avoid a suspension but has received what’s thought to be the biggest fine of the tennis year after his petulant display at the Shanghai Masters.
Kyrgios has been fined a total of $US16,500 ($A21,800) for breaches of the ATP code of conduct during his second-round match against Mischa Zverev on Wednesday.
The controversial world No.14 received a code violation for an audible obscenity during the 6-3 6-1 capitulation and later admitted he took the easy way out.
