Speedster Matt White has singed a one-year contract extension with Port Adelaide, despite sitting out the bulk of the season with a pectoral injury.
White, who turned 29 last month, will play on with the Power until at least the end of next year.
“I’m really excited to commit to Port Adelaide, this is a great footy club and I’ve loved the time I’ve spent here,” White said in a statement.
“This year’s been a bit of a tough one for me, but I’m hoping to be back out soon after the bye and make up for a bit of lost time.”
Coach Ken Hinkley is relishing the return of White and longtime spearhead Jay Schulz, as Port sweeps aside indifferent early season form and a spate of injuries and suspensions to sit at the cusp of the eight.
“People know what Whitey gives us, unfortunately we just haven’t been able to seen it because of injury this year,” Hinkley said.
White has played 41 games for Port since crossing from Richmond.
