Livewire Adelaide forward Charlie Cameron has become the latest Crow to put pen to paper, committing to the club until the end of 2018.

Cameron was already contracted for 2016, but has agreed to an additional two years. It follows the signatures of the likes of key Crows Taylor Walker, Rory Sloane and Richard Douglas, who have re-signed in recent months.

The club is still wrangling with versatile forward Tom Lynch, who has reportedly fielded interest from other clubs, including the Demons, and sweating on a likely decision by star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield to join Geelong at season’s end.

Cameron, 21, joined Adelaide as a rookie at the end of 2013, and has played 25 games for 34 goals since his debut in round nine, 2014.

He was a Rising Star nominee this season after he collected 13 disposals and a goal against Brisbane in Round 13, the last game Phil Walsh coached before his shock death last month.

“I’ve learnt so much in my short time at the Crows, particularly about what it takes to compete at the elite level,” Cameron said in a statement.

“We have a great group of players at the club and I am excited to continue to work together towards success.”

Crows Head of Football David Noble said Cameron was a “fierce tackler who uses his speed to apply strong defensive pressure”.
