Business SA can offer sector specific advice to members

The increasing speed and sophistication of information flows in diverse sectors of the economy was the catalyst for Business SA to develop a new communication strategy for its 5,000 members.

Launched last week, the new strategy will see specialist account managers serving specific industry sectors ranging from hospitality to health and manufacturing to mining.

General manager membership Paul Shaw said the new approach reflected the changing environment in which members were engaged and would ensure that Business SA continued to offer timely and effective advice and service.

“Each sector of the economy has its own rules, regulatory regime and hot issues and we will offer advice and services that are directly relevant to our members in that space,” Shaw said.

“Our five account managers will have specialised industry knowledge that will inform their advice on issues ranging from new legislation and industrial awards to the type of training programs offered by Business SA,” he said.

“These account managers will also sit on government and industry bodies that deal with sectoral issues giving them access to the latest thinking and conversations within government and the broader business community.

“Members will receive fortnightly email bulletins reporting on major issues and containing information gleaned from Business SA’s business advice hotline that might be relevant to other members in that same sector.”
