Following their involvement in WOMADelaide’s Planet Talks series, environmental champions Sylvia A. Earle and Simran Sethi discussed their passion for and dedication to a sustainable world for the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre’s ‘In-Conversation’ series.
Sylvia is Explorer in Residence at the National Geographic Society, Founder of Mission Blue/Sylvia Earle Alliance and Founder of Deep Ocean Exploration. Simran is journalist and educator focused on environmentalism, sustainability & social change.
Sylvia and Sethi delivered messages of hope and inspiration to a packed audience. Earle described today as ‘the best time to be born’ due to the knowledge we now have about the world and the ability to anticipate the future. Sethi encouraged the audience to recognise that ‘everything has a value’ and to acknowledge that value before it is too late and it is gone.
Most importantly Sylvia reminded the public that ‘everyone has the power and that ability to make choices as we are armed with knowledge’.
If you were unable to attend the event the Hawke Centre have recorded the In-conversation presentation which is now available to view.
