Education to Employment: Are we doing enough to support young South Australians to succeed?

Feb 25, 2015, updated May 13, 2025

This important Community Forum, facilitated by the ABC’s Deb Tribe, will explore and challenge the way we support our young people in their transition from school life to meaningful employment.

High levels of youth unemployment are of grave concern and our community has a responsibility to support young people to successfully transition from education to employment. The forum will ask why we have so many unemployed young people. Are we teaching our young people the skills they need to prepare for the world of work? What are employers looking for? How can you be involved?

Join Bill Lawson AM, Chair of the Beacon Foundation, Zoe Bettison, Minister for Communities and Social Inclusion and Minister for Youth, and other prominent education, community and business leaders in this ‘Q & A’ style forum.

Discover the views and ideas of our panellists and explore the role you can play in building a better future for our young people.

The event is presented by the Beacon Foundation, and supported by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre
