Qantas has appointed advertising guru and media personality Todd Sampson to its board of directors.
Sampson, best known as a panellist on the ABC’s The Gruen Transfer and Gruen Planet programs, will join the airline’s board as a non-executive director or February 25.
He is also a member of the Fairfax board of directors and national chief executive of ad agency the Leo Burnett Group.
Earlier this week, Qantas headed industry website AirlineRatings.com’s list of the world’s safest airlines for 2015.
The airline was also in the news yesterday, with the revelation that its biggest shareholder, Franklin Resources, had reduced its stake to 14.2 per cent from 15.4 per cent.
The move was carried out on Tuesday as shares in the airline hit a four-year high of $2.61.
