Radio FIVEaa’s breakfast team has closed the gap on its ABC 891 talk rivals, Matt Abraham and David Bevan.
In the latest ratings, Mix 102.3 reclaimed the lead over 891 in the crucial breakfast shift, despite losing share.
In survey seven, FIVEaa breakfast – with Mark Aiston, David Penberthy and Jane Reilly – increased its share from 12.2 to 13.0.
ABC891 fell from 15.9 to 14.7, while MIX102.3 dropped from 15.4 to 14.9.
The next ranked breakfast team was Nova91.9 with 10.5, closely followed by the fast-coming Triple M team of Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar.
The survey period overlapped partly with SAFM’s rebranding as hit107, which appeared to have little immediate impact on the station’s ratings.
In breakfasts, hit107 dropped from 7.5 to 6.8. The next survey will show whether the new local breakfast duo Amos and Dani have made an impact.

In Drive, the FIVEaa sports show, which last week dropped Chris McDermott for Mark Bickley, flatlined at 11.9, trailing Nova and Mix.
Triple M’s sports drive show increased its share marginally to 9.6.
Triple J’s drive program had a very strong survey, increasing from 7.5 to 9.2, surprisingly surging ahead of hit107 (steady at 8.5) and the ABC youth network’s grown-up cousin ABC891 (7.8).
Overall, MIX102.3 remained the leading Adelaide radio station with 14.6 per cent of listeners, despite losing market share.
Next in line were Nova (11.8), ABC891 (11.3) and FIVEaa (11.2).
FIVEaa will be pleased that it has closed the gap on its publicly-funded talk rival.
At the last survey, ABC891 led FIVEaa 12.2 to 11.1 – there’s now almost nothing in it, and FIVEaa is leading from Monday to Friday.
