Every Thursday from 5pm, the West End precinct comes alive with a calendar of events. The precinct’s doors are open until late, with exhibitions, films, music, talks, food, beer and wine, workshops and MORE. We look forward to seeing you here in the West!

ART AFTER DARK West End galleries are open until 7pm. Current exhibitions at the University of South Australia’s City West campus include:

Kerry Packer Civic Gallery

Traverses: J.M. Coetzee in the world – this exhibition, open from 3-28 November, forms part of a suite of events held in Adelaide in November to celebrate J.M. Coetzee’s life and work. Discover the literary, political and autobiographical journeys that have made J.M. Coetzee a writer of such significance.

Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art

Luminous World, open until 5 December, brings together contemporary paintings, objects and photographs from the Wesfarmers Collection, in a conversation about light. These works, acquired by Wesfarmers over three decades by some fifty leading Australian and New Zealand artists, are shared together for the first time with the Australian public.

SASA Gallery

In a forest, open until 28 November – Artist: Ann Shelton.  A dark and foreboding forest of signs.  Shelton’s ongoing project is a melancholic, subtle and searching meditation on the complexities and instabilities of photography, memory and history.
