Jul 17, 2014, updated May 13, 2025

Just in time to ward off the cold, the West End cultural precinct will warm up Adelaide with a special evening of wine tastings, food trucks, exhibitions, film and music across the precinct to launch ART AFTER DARK West End.

The Hawke Centre are thrilled to be collaborating with their special partners to create a lively cultural hub in the West End.

The program for the launch on 17 July includes:

  • from 5pm in the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery enjoy live music from Silk Road Express, view the gallery’s current exhibition, and taste Dowie Doole’s new limited release range of red wine: Fruit of the Vine and selected white wines. This event is hosted by the Hawke Centre and the Samstag Museum of Art.
  • music by DJ Shoaib, and drink specials available from 4.30pm at the West Bar.
  • glass blowing to the sounds of DJ OCK and sample wines by Seppelstfield Estate at JamFactory, from 6pm.
  • the launch of two exhibitions, Synonyms for Savages by Madison Bycroft and OdradekAEAF Performing Identity: Jenna Pippett, curated by Eleanor Scicchitano, from 6pm, at the Australian Experimental Art Foundation.
  • a screening of Sideways (MA), with a sample of some of the Chaffey Bros’ “minimal intervention” Barossa and Eden Valley wines, available from 6:30pm as part of Adelaide Cinematheque at Mercury Cinema.
  • A Yalumba wine tasting experience at the Nexus Multicultural Art Centre.

This is a great opportunity to experience a unique nightlife in Adelaide – no need to book – just come along.
