Join us these school holidays for a FREE self-directed art-making session to create cardboard sculptures of houses and other dwellings that will contribute to Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan’s In-Habit: Project Another Country exhibition at Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art from 1 August until 30 October.
Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan create remarkably imaginative installations that use the processes of collecting and collaboration to express ideas of migration, family and memory. Often working with local communities and conducting art-making workshops, the Aquilizans compose elaborate, formal installations reflecting individual experiences of dislocation and change.
At the same time, view the SA Refugee Week: 2014 Youth Poster Awards exhibition. This annual visual dialogue celebrates our cultural diversity, and describes multiculturalism, anti-racism and human rights as seen through the eyes of students from primary and tertiary level.
FREE at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery
until 23 July
