Reaping the benefits of World Heritage Site status

Jun 04, 2014, updated May 13, 2025

James Rebanks (UK) examines World Heritage Sites across the world to discover how sites attract economic development.

He will visit Adelaide next week to share how South Australia’s Mt Lofty Ranges World Heritage bid could invigorate our state’s tourism sector – offering visitors a unique and authentic cultural experience, as well as creating more jobs and boosting the economy.

Rebanks’ presentation will highlight what implications his findings might have for the food, wine and tourism economies of the Mount Lofty Ranges region and the City of Adelaide, as a tourist gateway.
