Adelaide is just one game out of the eight and Gold Coast can move into the top four in the next week as Round Nine results re-shaped the season.

Port remains on top despite having the bye, one game clear of four sides while Fremantle put the competition on notice that its Grand Final appearance last year was no fluke.

In the SANFL, Crows 199-gamer Brent Reilly put his hand up for a recall against Carlton next Sunday at the MCG.

If Adelaide Oval administrators thought a Thursday night crowd of 50,000 was a good result, a blockbuster clash between Port and Hawthorn Saturday night will fill the house again.

Let’s hope they get the siren fixed by then.
