A sentimental racing partnership ends this weekend along with the 2014 TattsBet Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival.

Popular filly Miracles of Life seeks a fairytale ending to her partnership with trainer Daniel Clarken by winning the Group One feature race, the Goodwood Handicap, on the Carnival’s final day.

A capacity field of 20, plus two emergencies, has been accepted for the $500,000 Tapestry Wines Goodwood, which will be run as Race 7 at 3.30pm this Saturday.

Fighting for favouritism after this morning’s barrier draw are 2013 winner Platelet, 2014 Sportingbet Classic winner Driefontein, emerging Victorian star Sistine Demon and pint-sized filly Miracles Of Life.

After drawing favourably with barrier 3, Gai Waterhouse’s champion mare Driefontein will be looking to emulate the two previous winners of this event, Black Caviar and Platelet, who both completed the Group 1 Sportingbet Classic and Goodwood double.

She will again combine with Vlad Duric this Saturday after their recent success at Morphettville.

Sentimental favourite, Miracles of Life, will be hoping to farewell Morphettville with Group 1 glory this weekend.

The filly charmed the crowd with her win in last year’s group one Blue Diamond at Caulfield with Adelaide apprentice Lauren Stojakovic aboard.

Her racing career looked over when Clarken was told by the owners of Miracles of Life that a career as a broodmare was the next chapter for the horse.

With just a couple of runs left to end their partnership, Miracles won the Group 2 Sportingbet Stakes at Morphettville last Saturday.

Clarken’s talented filly will be hoping to repeat that success again this week, and with Dean Yendall again in the saddle, her odds in the market have shortened after drawing barrier 2.

Darren Weir’s Platelet has drawn wide in barrier 17 as she aims to become just the third back-to-back winner in this feature race’s long history.

After combining in the Sportingbet Classic at Morphettville a fortnight ago, Brad Rawiller will again take the reins this Saturday.

Leading apprentice Jamie Kah will return to South Australia this weekend in search of her first Group 1 victory when she partners with Andrew Noblet’s in-form Sistine Demon.

Despite drawing wide with barrier 20, the combination of these two rising stars, will see them feature amongst the favourites.

The race features significant South Australian representation.

Of the local hopes, the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Essay Raider will be another one to watch as he looks to continue his winning form with Jason Holder from a fortnight ago.
