The impressive new building on North Terrace is the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). SAHMRI will significantly increase the nation’s capacity for leading scientific research by:
- Building a team of more than 600 outstanding researchers, who will work together in the search for better treatments and cures for some of the world’s most challenging diseases
- Creating a world-class precinct of medical research and clinical application, with state of the art laboratories and equipment in a purpose-built, iconic, 25,000 square-metre facility, adjacent to the site of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (new RAH)
- Actively fostering and nurturing a new generation of the top research minds, and undertaking extensive and interactive community engagement and education programs.
We’re excited this new facility is in South Australia, but we’re even more excited to be supporting SAHMRI with the StatewideSuper Research Scholarship. Our aim in teaming up with SAHMRI is to support outstanding health and medical research students early in their career, as well as supporting ground-breaking research right here in SA!

We are all about preventative care, and as such, we believe our scholarship dollars will, down the track, mean a healthier South Australian workforce. Now that’s gotta be a great outcome for everyone!
The scholarship commences in March 2014 and will provide the winners with funds to put towards a research project in their chosen health field. We’re delighted to be supporting South Australia as well as important research in health and medicine.
