Nov 27, 2013, updated May 12, 2025

The 2014 Hawke Centre event and exhibition program will continue our commitment to provide you with the chance to: Think, Connect, Act and therefore embrace the opportunity to create a sustainable 21st century.

Highlights for 2014 at the Hawke Centre include:

The 17th Annual Hawke Lecture, which will be delivered by Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, AC, AFC (Ret’d), who will lead the Anzac Centenary commemorations starting next year. The Anzac Centenary will be one of the most significant commemorations to take place in our lifetimes. The lecture will be held on Tuesday 5 August 2014 at 6.00pm in the Adelaide Town Hall.

The Hawke Centre is delighted that Mary McAleese, former President of Ireland will deliver the UniSA Nelson Mandela Lecture on Wednesday 3 September 2014. Former President McAleese’s presidency was marked by advocacy for peace and reconciliation efforts. This lecture will explore the relentless work of the Irish peace process, and the hope and proof that enemies can indeed become partners. We co-present this lecture with the UniSA School of Law.

The Hawke Centre will commence its 2014 program in February 2014 with an exhibition and forum on Cultivating Modernism: reading the modern garden 1917-71 with the Architecture Museum at UniSA. Other events scheduled during the year include events with Australia21, Oxfam and the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA.

Keep up-to-date with our 2014 Hawke Centre program via the Hawke Centre website. You can also register for the Hawke Centre Newsletter, providing free and regular information on the program.
