Former No.4 picks Richard Tambling and Cale Morton lead the delistings as clubs prune their lists before next month’s AFL national draft.
Morton’s West Coast team-mate Brad Dalziell, Essendon forward Alwyn Davey and Richmond pair Luke McGuane and Robin Nahas were also cut.
The announcements were made on Wednesday, the day before clubs must lodge their initial lists with the the league in the lead-up to the November 21 draft.
The delisted free agency period also starts on Friday.
Through no fault of his own, Tambling will always be remembered as the player Richmond drafted ahead of Lance Franklin.
The Tigers took him with the fourth selection in the 2004 draft and Hawthorn used the next pick to secure Franklin.
Tambling played 108 games for the Tigers before they traded him to Adelaide in late 2010.
The 27-year-old played 16 games in three injury-interrupted seasons with the Crows, including five this year.
The Crows said they would consider adding Tambling and Aidan Riley, another Adelaide delisting, to their rookie list.
Melbourne used pick four in the 2007 draft to recruit Morton, the brother of Sydney premiership player Mitch.
The 23-year-old was traded to the Eagles late last year after 73 games at Melbourne.
He only managed three senior games this season.
McGuane is the most experienced of the cut players, with 105 games over eight seasons at Punt Rd.
It is understood Brisbane are about to recruit him as a delisted free agent.
Davey played 100 games for the Bombers and Nahas racked up 83 AFL matches with the Tigers.
Dalziell played 15 games at Brisbane and 28 at West Coast, including 17 this season.
