Flinders at Tonsley taking shape

Oct 11, 2013, updated May 12, 2025

With the start of construction on July 14, in-ground works at Flinders’ Tonsley site are progressing well.

Last Friday approximately 500 cubic metres of concrete – or the equivalent of foundations for about 14 residential houses – was poured. Another two pours are scheduled over the coming weeks.

The University’s state-of-the-art, six storey, 18,000 square metre facility at Tonsley will be the home of our School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics, as well as Flinders’ New Venture Institute, Medical Device Research Institute, Flinders Partners, Southern Knowledge Transfer Partnership and the Centre for Nanoscale Science and Technology.
