Do Not Go Creas´ed Into that Good Night
Do not go crease`d into that good night,
Though your black beard is needled grey,
Rage, rage against time’s wrinkling flight.
Wise men’s turkey necks wobble a trite,
Unctuous lotions melt the crepe away,
Do not go creas´ed into that good night.
Marionette lines* do your mirror slight,
Your puppet mistress strolls and strays,
Rage, rage against time’s wrinkling flight.
Crow’s feet** caw at liver spots in light,
Iris fades, lips thin and lashes fray,
Do not go crease`d into that good night.
Nasio-labial folds are a drooping blight,
Botulinum*** pricks old drinking sins away,
Rage, rage against time’s wrinkling flight.
And you, blank browed one, trim and tight,
Fish eyed, fat lipped, smoothly gay,
Do not go crease`d into that good night,
Rage, rage against time’s wrinkling flight.
*Marionette lines, nasio-labial folds, are cosmetic surgery terms for lines and folds which run from nose through to chin.
