Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield polled well in last night’s Brownlow Medal count, finishing fourth despite a late season injury.

Dangerfield polled 22 votes to finish six behind winner Gold Coast champion Gary Ablett (28).

Dangerfield was equal-second on the overall leaderboard (18 votes) until he injured his shoulder in Round 16 loss.

He missed the next two matches through injury and only polled four votes in the last five rounds of the season.

Dangerfield’s run matched Adelaide’s patchy season;  polling no votes in the first three rounds he then racked up five best-on-ground performances between rounds four to 12.

Club Champion Rory Sloane was the next-best performed Crow with 15 votes while Scott Thompson (nine) finished third ahead of young teammate Brad Crouch, who received six votes in his debut season.
