Geelong’s Paul Chapman has been offered a one week suspension by the AFL’s Match Review Panel.

Chapman has been charged with a level two engaging-in-rough conduct offence (225 demerit points, two-match sanction), for his head high bump on Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray during the third quarter of the second-semi final.

He can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

“Based on the video evidence available and medical report from the Port Adelaide Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points),” the Panel found.

“This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction.”

Sydney’s Ted Richards can cop a reprimand, but will carry over 93 points after he was charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction), for engaging in rough conduct against Carlton’s Levi Casboult.

He can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

“Based on the video evidence available and medical report from the Carlton Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points),”the Panel said.

“This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.”

Geelong will miss Chapman – the veteran had four goals and 20 disposals to help inspire Friday night’s comeback semi-final win over Port Adelaide

Richards was also in stellar form on Saturday night, blanketing Carlton star Jarrad Waite.

While he escaped suspension, the Swans have other major concerns.

Kurt Tippett (knee) and Tom Mitchell (ankle) were both injured on Saturday night and co-captain Jarrad McVeigh wasn’t optimistic about what scans on Monday will reveal.

“Hopefully they’ll get a scan and it’s not too bad, but it didn’t look great,” he told the Seven Network’s AFL Game Day.

The Cats are more hopeful on the playing prospects of defender Jared Rivers (ankle), subbed off on Friday night.

But Corey Enright (knee) is unlikely to return.

Captain Joel Selwood and fellow midfield stalwart James Kelly both admit Geelong’s outsider status is warranted.

But Hawks captain Luke Hodge isn’t getting carried away, noting the Cats showed their class in the second half against the Power.

Hodge said Hawthorn will have to come up with something different than what they’ve produced previously against Geelong to break their 11-game stranglehold.
