Rain delays BMW

Sep 13, 2013, updated May 09, 2025

Play has been suspended for the day at the BMW Championship, where heavy rains twice interrupted the action before the course became unplayable and officials called off the rest of the day.

The final round will resume Tuesday, Australian time.

Eleven groups failed to tee off with play first being suspended at 11 a.m. local time for 3 1/2 hours and then again just before 3:30 p.m. as heavy rains moved into the area and puddles began forming in fairways and on the greens at Conway Farms.

Only six players — Rory McIlroy, Kevin Chappell, Dustin Johnson, Lee Westwood, Charley Hoffman and Scott Piercy — finished their rounds. Of that group, McIlroy, Chappell, Westwood, Hoffman and Piercy were all eliminated from the FedExCup Playoffs. Johnson is currently projected in the 30th spot.
