Flinders’ strong record of national teaching honours continues with the award to staff of five Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.
The annual Citations form part of the national Office for Learning and Teaching’s Australian Awards for University Teaching, and are intended to recognise and reward the diverse contributions that individuals and teams make to the quality of student learning. Each Citation comes with a $10,000 prize.
Citations to Flinders staff went to four individuals and one group.
Professor Andrew Parkin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), said that the Citations reinforced the University’s institutional commitment to high quality teaching and learning.
“Once again, we see the evidence of energy, ingenuity and innovation by some of the finest exponents of teaching from across the University. It is especially pleasing that the calibre of their efforts has been recognised at the national level,” Professor Parkin said.
“These are all people who seek to refine and enliven their teaching practice and methods, as well as devising ways to improve delivery of our courses and curricula. They thereby add immeasurably to the student experience at Flinders.”
