When a fourth-generation farmer born and bred on the Eyre Peninsula decided to make a career change, becoming a tour operator was the logical decision.
David Doudle, who has more than 30 years of knowledge and experience exploring the local area, started Goin’ Off Safaris as a hobby in 2006. He hung up his farming boots a month ago to dedicate all his time to showcasing the Eyre Peninsula.
“It’s the best place in the world and I know it like the back of my hand,” David says.
“There is so much to do, see and explore on the Eyre Peninsula – everyone should be coming here.”
David – better known to his friends as “Lunch” but don’t bother asking how he got the nickname until you book one of his tours – customises his tours to suit people’s budgets, time and interests.
Visitors not only get to witness the Eyre Peninsula’s stunning landscapes, they also get to experience many of the activities David and his family grew up doing – from fishing, diving and sand boarding to catching and cooking their own seafood.
Goin’ Off Safaris is now introducing two new one-day tours from Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay for those short on time.“It’s the raw, rugged and untouched landscapes that make it special,” the former grain farmer says.
“It’s all about the local people, the best seafood in the world and the most beautiful beaches. There’s so many world-class activities people should try – shark cage diving, swimming with dolphins and sealions or fishing – there is something for everyone.”
